Convolution Explorer
A tool for analysis of dynamic behavior of oil and gas reservoirs
Convolution Explorer (ConvEx) is a software tool for analysis of dynamic behavior of oil and gas reservoirs.
This is a multi-well Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA) tool that can also be used for analysis of single well pressure and rate data.
Convolution Explorer can be used for analysis of relatively short exploration and appraisal well tests as well as for analysis of long term surveillance pressure and rate data
obtained in the course of routine production operations.
Such analysis may help in understanding geometry of fluid flow in the reservoir, reservoir connectivity across the field,
large scale reservoir heterogeneities, provide estimates of reservoir rock and well properties.
It can also yield information regarding the reservoir volume supported by reservoir dynamic pressure and rate data.

Convolution Explorer implements a form of pressure-rate deconvolution
analysis. However, it does it in a robust way and does not rely on automatic
pressure-rate deconvolution algorithms that are prone to all kinds of limitations and problems.
This is an analysis tool intended for experienced engineers with expertise and knowledge of pressure
transient analysis. At the same time, Convolution
Explorer is a great teaching tool that due to its highly interactive nature rapidly
builds engineer's knowledge and expertise in dynamic reservoir and well behavior. If you

For an experienced reservoir engineer knowledgeable in Pressure Transient Analysis, the
Convolution Explorer Application does not require any specialized training. Sufficiently
detailed help facility which is a part of application interface allows one to learn how to
use the application and master it on his/her own.
